Chabad of Riverdale is part of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement, inspired by the vision and leadership of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. Since 1992, we have served the Bronx with a clear mission: to love every Jew, educate every Jew, and support every Jew — regardless of background or affiliation.

Located at 535 West 246th Street, our center is a welcoming hub of Jewish life, learning, prayer, and community.
 

Shabbat & Services

  • Warm, inclusive Shabbat and holiday services

  • Friday night Mincha/Maariv — 10 minutes after candle lighting

  • Shabbat morning — Rambam 9:00am, Shacharit 9:30am 

  • Followed by a community Kiddush (Click here for sponsorship)

  • Monthly Shabbat Mevarchim Farbrengen with song and inspiration

  • Weekday morning minyan (Monday–Friday, 7:30am) and Sunday minyan (8:45am)

  • All services held at our synagogue

  • Torah classes for all backgrounds and experience levels

  • Weekly Shabbat Torah class for women (12:15-1:15pm)

  • Monthly Rosh Chodesh Society for women (Tuesday nights)

  • Weekly Torah class for men (Wednesday nights)

Guided by the Jewish value of Tikun Olam — healing and perfecting the world — we provide support wherever it’s needed:

  • Bikur Cholim — visiting and supporting those who are ill

  • Counseling & Crisis Support — confidential guidance and referrals

  • Gittel’s Meals — meals for new parents, illness, or shiva

  • Home Visits — companionship for seniors, shut-ins, and new immigrants

  • Koshering Services — in-home guidance and assistance

  • Lifecycle Support — baby namings, weddings, funerals, and more

  • Toys for Tots — Chanukah gifts for hospitalized children

Women’s Programming

  • Jewish Women’s Circle events and classes

  • Torah learning, social gatherings, and seasonal programs
